Past by this place last weekend with my friends for dinner. This is the best pizza that i ever tried in my life. Especially seafood pizza, so tasted and delicious. The smell and fresh seafood gave you an incredible mixing feeling of oriental Italian pizza. The place is quiet and relaxing. Really enjoy that dinner feeling on the weekend. High recommended!

How have I not reviewed this place yet? Maybe subconsciously I don't want to give away the secret of Rumi's! Anyway... I'd say the food is worthy of a 4.5 star rating, but the super great and friendly service bumps it up to a full 5. This is a cute little romantic spot just off of the trendy (and sometimes annoying) Las Olas strip. Rumi's is quiet and dark -- in a good way. The food is somewhere between Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Italian, and all very good. Try the Rumi Pizza -- it might be closer to "flatbread" than pizza, but it's oh-so-tasty! They also have a good drink selection. I'll keep coming back!

Ordered delivery for lunch today. 2 great, filling, and frrsh salads for mty coworker and I . Fresh ingredients, filling, homemade dressing. What truly impressed us was the quick delivery. From placing our order to getting our food was under 15 minutes. Not too many places downtown could do that. We will be customers going forward

Found this little gem on yelp. Stopped by for lunch. Our server Arvin Was excellent! We started with the Baba Ganoush - it was excellent! Very fresh. Tried 2 salads the Wild Berry Salad & Avocado Salad both also very good. Ordered a Gyro cuz I had to try it and a Margherita pizza. Again both excellent. I love lemon so I got theFlute Limoncello, It was nice & light. My wife got the Cuppa Pistachio and thought it was great! Have to say everything was really good and tasted really fresh. Everything was really good! The service was excellent! Will definitely come back! Wanted to give it 4.5 but can never figure out how to do it.

Went 20 min before closing awhile back and the manager would not let us in saying they closed early. Really disappointing when restaurants advertise a closing time and when you arrive they close early. I will never go there again, the manager was not even nice about it.

Pop Quiz. How do you make a first date more awkward than it already is? You get called out on it by a group of party people your parents' age. But then you all start dancing to disco music and all is forgiven. [True story.] I can't guarantee this experience for everyone, but you are bound to enjoy whatever your experience is here. I was skeptical when I saw all five star reviews like "this place can't possibly be that good." Except it was. I met my mystery date at the bar and enjoyed a glass of Rose. Then when that was gone the owner promptly refilled my glass. "Well, guess I'm having another drink," I thought. Then another, followed by another. I'm not sure which were on the house, because the boy snatched the bill before I could even see it, but I know a couple of them were. Were we really that obvious? Everyone in the restaurant tried to contribute to easing the first date ritual. I remember devouring the falafel wrap which was fantastic. One of the best Mediterranean meals I've ever had. He raved about his chicken sandwich as well. Never expected to spend five hours there but it definitely turned out to be more than a memorable meal. BOTTOM LINE: Wine. Food. Fun.

We stopped in here for a quick drink and an appetizer. But something was off. While there was only one other couple present, the waiter was flustered, distracted and hardly present. We later realized he was filling in for a waiter (or owner) who was immensely late. But, we enjoyed the Rumi Platter and a quick beer (my first choice couldn't be found, but enjoyed my second choice). The platter was good, but certainly not outstanding. Awkward experience otherwise.

I was so excited to try Rumi lounge after reading the reviews. I was stuck in the house all day dog sitting and studying for midterms so it was convenient that they had delivery. I took a look over the menu and everything sounded so delicious and I could not decide so I called and asked what the most popular thing on the menu was and was told that the pizza was the best in town. I originally was going to try something a bit healthier but I will never turn down an opportunity to try some really good pizza and so I took his advice and ordered the margherita pizza. He was very friendly and helpful. The pizza took about 30 minutes and boy was I excited! I signed the receipt and waved the delivery man off only to open the box and find all of the ingredients had shifted to one side of the box from it tipping during transport. I tried to put it back together so that every piece had ingredients on it but it was a mess. I was unable to pick up the pizza because it was quite flimsy/soggy. The pizza was not awful, the flavors were there, I just was not mind-blown considering it was "the best pizza in town", especially not on presentation or price. I would possibly like to try Rumi Lounge again, but I would try something else. I am just a bit turned off by the lack of care in the delivery. I think I would have taken it better had the delivery man apologized because accidents do happen and I am understanding, but to find it afterwards and have a mush of pizza in a box without any apology was unfortunate. :(

First, we had an extremely bad experience with the delivery service of another restaurant establishment. Then, we decided to try another similar restaurant and as a result we contacted this one. The order taker on the phone was very nice very hospitable and did a great job overall. The driver came extremely fast and was very polite and courteous and as a result redeemed my faith in the delivery service industry. The food was great, very delicious, and overall a lovely experience. I would highly recommend this place to anybody, thank you for the lovely an outstanding experience!

I was pretty disappointed in yelpers when this meal was over. Maybe I caught the restaurant on a bad night, but I got here on a Saturday night at 8:30PM and there was no one at the restaurant with the exception of what seemed to be a bartender, and we were concerned we were in the wrong restaurant. We started with the Mediterranean plate and a salad that the waiter recommended. We didn't finish a single item. The Mediterranean plate came with grape leaves that had just been taken out of refrigeration or maybe even a package because they were stone cold and tasted terrible, the hummus would have probably been good but it was fully covered in truffle oil. I like truffle oil but not necessarily with my hummus, and definitely not to the extent where you can't taste the hummus at all. I also wouldn't call this place a Mediterranean restaurant, because it really has a hodge podge of items, mainly pizza and pasta. We got the highly recommended pizza also and each had a slice before giving up all together. The pizza was just mediocre. Since we were still a bit hungry, we ended with the chocolate lava cake. Your typical frozen lava cake, but atleast warmed to a nice temperature and served with good ice cream. I will say that the waiter recommended a delicious Pinot noir, so good I had two glasses. My date was happy with her moscato as well, so maybe this place would do better calling itself a wine bar. The service was also great, so if food is not really your thing, but wine and service are, this is the place for you. I definitely won't go back.

This was the perfect escape from the somewhat monotone Las Olas Blvd. There's really nothing much to do on Las Olas except for people watch and eat, but none of the restaurants on the actual boulevard looked at all appetizing, rather just looked like tourist traps. Rumi was only around two blocks away from Las Olas Blvd, but the restaurant had a nicer ambience, and nicer food! I ate the rather boring plate of pita and hummus. Nevertheless, the food was excellently prepared, and the waitstaff were extremely polite and friendly. The only reason that Rumi Lounge doesn't get five stars is because the pita and hummus tasted quite ordinary. They were extremely tasty, but nothing separated them from a well crafted pita and hummus dish I could have made at home. Perhaps if I had tried a more sophisticated meal, I would have given it the extra star. Regardless, the restaurant is definitely the place to eat if you're on Las Olas Blvd!

FRIENDLY - DECENT FOOD - DECENT PRICES. I can't really rave about Rumi because it's a simple place with a simple menu. It's a relaxed off-Las Olas spot worth trying.

I just had my birthday party here last night. I had 18 people and it was such a great experience. The small size of the restaurant made it feel like I was hosting in someone's awesome living room. The food was well priced and delicious! The gyro was amazing, all the pizzas were fancy and incredible... So fresh! The wine superb, the champaign awesome! The Mediterranean platter was so good. The service was top notch. She was able to remember everyone's name and split the bill for everyone. The manager even gave us free Champagne! Overall I was impressed and couldn't have picked a better place for my 36th bday! Thanks Rumi Lounge!

Great food and friendly staff! Hummus plate was delicious. Tried a variety of pizzas which were all fresh and yummy.

This is a gem off Las Olas that deserves more attention. The place is a good wine bar that serves some decent food, but wine is the focus so the menu is limited. It is still a great place for a light dinner, some good wine and all in a calm, friendly atmosphere. Definately a nice change from the Las Olas freenzy.

More places like Rumi are needed in Fort Lauderdale. Great wine, friendly staff, solid food. Love getting a bunch of apps and a pizza. Reasonably priced. Good date place.

This place rocks! We brought 14 of our staff members to Rumi to celebrate and they treated us like royalty. Great food and wine and such amazing service. They even cranked the music for us to dance after dinner. So happy we found ourselves here. Highly recommended!

We went to this place with great expectations, given all the positive reviews. What a disappointment! The hummus was watery, the tabouli tasteless, the stuffed grape leaves as of taken from the can. I have to say the owner was nice and accommodating, which is why I give this place two stars instead of one. He brought me salt and lemon to fix the tabouli, and he offered us two small slices of pizza because we were clearly unhappy with most of our order (the berry salad was okay). But they should fire the chef! Even the lemonade I ordered was disgusting. The owner told me it was mixed with orange juice (why on Earth would they do that?) and immediately offered to bring me a real lemonade (which was barely decent). As another reviewer mentioned, come to this place for lunch, not for a date night. The location is weird, the decor is depressing (plastic tablecloth), and the food is average at best. Most importantly, do not order the hummus platter! Maybe get a salad.

This place is a hidden gem down the street from las olas. It is a very cool lounge type restaurant with nice music and a very cool setting. Right when I walked in Javid greeted me and made me feel very welcome. Hummus platter and the wrap were extremely tasty. Javid even brought me a slice of pizza on the house which was delicious. When all is said and done I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. - Josh

I chose Rumi Lounge on a complete whim. I loved the Rumi quotes on the website and the ambiance felt perfect for the last night of a trip with my staff. I called and made a reservation for 15, which they gladly accommodated. We arrived and a BEAUTIFUL table was set up for my group. Jamie (our waitress) was absolutely on point and Javid, the owner, personally sat at the bar overseeing everything from the lighting, the music, and the food to ensure we were completely satisfied. The food was fantastic, the wine selection was superb. I highly recommend Rumi Lounge to anyone and everyone!

Located in a newer facility on SE 8th Avenue just off and away from the touristy rips and hassles of Los Olas is Rumi Lounge which I found to be a really great place offering a variety good European styled thin crusted pizza, various platters, sandwiches, pita wraps and salads along with an excellent selection of wines and beers which, to my delight, included my favorite Belgian Chimay. Though not actually fitting with the classical definition of being a lounge, it does have a relaxed laid back somewhat classy lounge like feeling about it. For atmosphere, relaxing environment and an enjoyable little place for good conversation it's really Five Star in my book. And oh yes, of course, I do like the Yelp sticker on their door window. They really have a good selection of pizzas, each of the very nicely done and well topped off but also with the following additional toppings: Pepperoni, Sausage, Ham, Prosciutto, Chicken, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Spinach, Onions, Olives, Roasted Peppers, Sundried Tomatoes, Anchovies, Eggplant. My suggestion however is to ask your waiter for suggestions prior to ordering an additional toppings as I went for additional anchovy but was advised that such would not fit well with their in house special Rumi or their Tuscany pizza, and upon being served the same I found his advice to be very well taken.

Rumi's lounge is so good! We went here for my friends birthday a few months ago and we all had amazing dinner plates! Some of us had pizzas and other salads. The service is amazing!!!! The staff is super friendly and our waitress was also the manager or owner and she was always asking questions, giving suggestions and comments, super friendly and so kind! I would recommend and come back to this place whenever I am downtown. It's a really small place and such a hole in the wall which is unfortunate so make sure to keep your eyes open!

Rumi is a great little place off the main Las Olas strip. It's unpretentious and the food is uncomplicated but very tasty and delicious. My wife and I shared Rumi's appetizer platter which is a mix of hummus, grape leaves, prosciutto, olives and cheese. It's served with warm pita bread that's clearly fresh. We then shared their 14" house pizza, which was perfectly baked, not soggy and made with fresh ingredients. I make my own pizza at home and I'm often disappointed when I eat pizza out. Not this time. Rumi also has a nice selection of wines at very good prices. The decor is very nice and quaint, especially once the owner dims the lights. In conclusion, Rumi is a little gem that offers great value.

Next time I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, I'll definitely return to this off the beaten path gem. This cozy little storefront has less than a dozen tables and isn't on the main drag in Los Olas. That's not stopping them from cranking out quality artisan pizza and Mediterranean sandwiches. The service was impeccable. One guy was handling the bar and bussing and taking orders, but he was still on point. He's fixing wobbly tables, cracking jokes, and generally making you feel at home. The decor does that too. It's classy without being pretentious. The high ceilings keep the small space quiet. First timers can get a free glass of wine with an appetizer from a surprisingly expansive wine list. We got the hummus platter with was really tasty along with a four cheese pizza and one of the sandwiches. The crust and sandwich bread seemed homemade. Everything was reasonably priced for the neighborhood. Great yelp find.

If Cheers had style, culture, and amazing wines, it would be called Rumi. This establishment wants to be your neighborhood watering hole, as well it should be. It's romantic, friendly, sexy, soulful. Plan to stay awhile. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe. The first time we walked into Rumi the owner Javid made us feel at home. We were impressed with the wine, the food, and the atmosphere. I highly recommend their hummus and their quattro formaggi pizza. The second time we walked into Rumi, Javid greeted us warmly and welcomed us back like old friends. We enjoyed the same wonderful food and wine, as well as conversation with patrons and staff. Each time we go to Rumi we feel as if we are going to the home of a warm and welcoming friend. We enjoy taking others with us now to experience what we have come to know and love about this establishment.

Hopping back on the review bandwagon to give big ups to little, local and unknown Rumi Lounge. Weird, but well done mix of Italian and Middle Eastern cuisine. Their Rumi app is fantastic- homemade pita and hummus, taboulie, mixed olives, fantastic cheese, stuffed grape leaves. Really nice. We had their Rumi pizza which was very legit- contender for best crust in S. Florida. Great wines- ask you server for recommendations, because they will pour almost anything by the glass, but a lot was not on the list. We had a 2010 Sonoma Cab @ $38 for the bottle. Can't beat it. We'll go again.

I literally stumbled onto Rumi Lounge while en route to the Las Olas Xmas Party this past Tuesday. The block party was great, but Rumi Lounge was the highlight of the night. The place just opened (re-opened?) and It's just what this area needs: an inexpensive and elegant wine bar with GREAT food. It all starts with the atmosphere. Open layout with indoor/outdoor seating, not at all pretentious, great crowd, and very classy. The place embodies what it is to be a lounge, you can just sit and relax for hours with no pressure. The things that set it apart for me was the service and the FOOD! There were 20 entrees under $10 (by my slightly tipsy, completely unscientific count). Will take a date here soon. At these prices, we can both have great food and get tipsy for half the price of anywhere else on Las Olas, then walk the half block to the actual strip to stroll and people watch. tl;dr awesome atmosphere and great food for a great value

We went to Rumi this week based on the Yelp reviews and unfortunately we were not impressed at all. The atmosphere was not as expected. We sat at a table where the plastic tablecloth had a big splash of ketchup probably from lunch time. We thought that this would be more of a warm feel lounge place but it was quite the opposite. We ordered the cheese platter appetizer and that was quite good, nice portion. The chicken sandwich was ok but we wouldn't order it again. The caesar salad was very disappointing, the croutons and dressing were just from a bag/jar and not good at all. The three stars go to the waitress which was friendly and courteous. She was also making their deliveries that evening so two thumbs up for her! We love to support small private owned restaurants and I really hope Rumi can make it by changing a few things. They do have potential! It was a Thursday evening and there were only four guests including us dining at Rumi the whole time we were there.

I came here for lunch on New Year's Eve. Completely empty. I got some great service and talked to the really nice staff. They seemed very eager to sell me on coming back. I think next time I come I will show up after work to dive into their large selection of beers.

Stopped in for a late lunch after checking out Yelp reviews. I ordered a hummus wrap, which was a nice light meal. The hummus was more acidic then i would like (too much lemon juice?) but the pita itself was delicious as was the feta. greens and cucumber slices were slightly limp. it was served with two stuffed grape leaves which were a great compliment to the pita. friendly service, and nice little place. we'd come here again.

We found Rumi through a Yelp recommendation and we're so glad we did! We each had a different salad and loved them. They all were fresh, interesting, and came with amazing bread on the side. We also had the Tuscany pizza and agreed that it was some of the best flatbread pizza we've had in a while. Rumi's staff is light-hearted and warm and we hope to be back soon!

The friendliest owner and staff in the city. Great food with fresh ingredients. I like their appetizer platters a lot, wonderful place to grab a quick bite before hitting the town or staying for a chill/lounge type of night. Glad I got stop by on my trip down here!

Quiet small restaurant with bar area tucked in a block off las olas. Service was wonderful. House Italian Chardonnay for $9 was dry cold and crisp. All dishes are homemade. Hummus with warm pita wedges perfect. They split a salad of mixed greens with goat cheese, dried cranberries and toasted almonds which was perfect for two. The honey mustard vinaigrette was on the side but a little oily for me. Also split was a margarita flatbread pizza with lots of shredded fresh basil which was also delicious. The waiter was great, ambiance nice, and food delicious. I definitely will return. A place for a quiet date or leisurely girls night out to sit and talk.

What an awesome yelp find. Thank you, yelp! This restaurant is tucked away on a side street, several blocks from the main drag on Las Olas, and we never would have found it if it weren't for the yelp app. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, and so you feel almost transformed as soon as you step in. The ambience is perrfect. Dimly lit, less than 10 small tables in the restaurant, tiny bar, and an entire wall of wine. It feels very upscale Meditteranean, but comfy instead of fussy. We only saw one guy working the entire time we were there. You really cannot come here on a time crunch. Although I have a feeling that even if you did for some reason, the aforementioned transformation that you feel walking in would change your mind and you would casually spend the rest of your afternoon here sipping on wine and snacking on hummus. I wish I could remember his name, but the one guy working was such a character. You could see from a mile away that he loved working and serving his guests. He bartended, cleaned tables, chatted with customers, talked about the food and wine, and kept on going. I wouldn't have been surprised if he was making the food, except I heard a bell go off from behind the bar which is when I learned that the kitchen is like a 2x4 behind the wall of the bar. There was a special advertised on a sign outside that mentioned a free glass of wine for new customers. I inquired if it was a certain type of wine, and he said 'for you? anything!' Which was nice, because I like sweeter wines that can tend to be a little expensive! The moscato they had was very nice, by the by. He even recommended a nice beer for my guy. We started off with the hummus platter. He then managed to improve customer service even more (which I thought was impossible already). I asked if we could have the platter with no olives, because we can't stand them. He offered to substitute what I'm assuming was just a few olives with an entire sampler portion of tabbouleh! It was so delicious as well, and I'm so glad we were able to try it. My guy had the four cheese pizza which was pretty good. A step up from basic, because the dough tasted homemade and there was so much quality cheese on it. It also happened to be HUGE, he could only eat 1/2 of the smaller size. I had a delicious panini with tomatoes, mozzarella and proscuitto. It was delicious, and the bread was awesome and if it wasn't homemade, then kudos to whatever bakery they use! The prices are absolutely reasonable for the great quality and amazing eating environment. I don't anticipate being back in the area any time soon, but I would totally go back if only for this small spot!

The food was ok. I ordered the hummus platter and the spring mix goat cheese salad. The hummus wasn't anything special, tastes similar to the Publix brand hummus but more bland. My biggest issue is that they clearly did not cater to my deadly food allergy. I ordered from them online through GrubHub, which offers a Special Instructions section. I requested (IN ALL CAPS so that they would see it) that they exclude the nuts from my salad, which were simply added on top of the salad itself, because I have a food allergy. The salad came, and the nuts were sprinkled on top, along with the cheese and cranberries. This error, paired with their $15 minimum, $2 delivery fee, and bland food means that I will not be ordering from here again.

Cute little wine bar, good to meet friends and have an actual conversation and be heard. But the hidden secret is the chicken salad is amazing!! Lightly dressed, gold raisins, apples, pine nuts and basil. Who knew?! Get it.

If you are looking for a great place to eat, have a glass of wine or beer and relax, here is the place for you. just off of Las Olas Blvd., this place has fantastic salads, sandwiches and my favorite the Las Olas Pizza. Hummus is fresh and if you are a salad lover, the berry salad is as delicious to eat as it is to look at! Prices a very reasonable and food is fantastic. The atmosphere is very retro and clean look. outside covered seating is also very nice and you don't get the traffic smoke and smell, since it's not directly adjacent to the main street.

Hands down the best pizza in Fort Lauderdale! The staff is always super friendly and warm. You feel at home the minute you sit down in this quaint place. Other than the pizza, I've had the hummus platter which comes with grape leaves which are also delicious. I have never been disappointed.

The best best best place to order out or dine in. Rumi lounge is super quaint-city chic meets small family oriented corner wine lounge. Rumi is super friendly and very funny. We order here all the time. Best sandwiches- ever. All homemade, bread too. Great wine selection. Great for a romantic, intimate date. Or a wine night with the girls. 100% recommended.

I LOVE this place! Great location tucked in between Broward Blvd. and a block up from Las Olas, I have ALWAYS had wonderful experiences here! The food is fantastic! Everything from the cheese platters to the wines. This is a great place to escape in the late afternoon! The staff here is INCREDIBLY friendly, and have gone out of their way to talk with me and offer suggestions. Just incredibly kind, warm people! The food is outrageously good! I could spend hours here just quietly sipping wine and reading. It is very relaxing. I also just discovered that they deliver, and I have utilized that service twice now and have been very satisfied. A change from the pace of Las Olas - in a good way!

Our experience at Rumi was simply phenomenal. We came in because we were in the mood for Mediterranean food and the reviews seemed spot on. We were not disappointed. They had several large parties, with live Persian musicians playing lovely melodies and everyone was singing along. Although they really were full, they made space for us, and we got a table for 3. Our drinks and water were brought out promptly, and we went through the menu ordering a large pizza, an appetizer platter, and a gyro. The service was simply phenomenal. They came to our table several times, got to know us, asked us about how we were enjoying the food. The other tables were also great in welcoming us and making us feel like part of the cultural experience. The food was great, especially the pizza and the gyro. The menu is limited, so do not expect rice dishes or extensive mezze and appetizers. That said, what is on there is very fresh and great quality. The service and the music are out of this world. I really cannot recommend this place highly enough. It is places like this that give meaning to the statement "neighborhood gem."

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
